Uma Narayan
Upper Elementary Lead Teacher
Uma started teaching in 2000 and really loves her profession. She has this to say about the Montessori education: “The child-centered method appeals a lot to me, and the learning triangle created by the teacher, child, and the prepared environment is simply fascinating! The progression from concrete to abstraction is a fool-proof approach to learning that makes it a unique experience for the students. Teaching is my passion as it is very rewarding and fulfilling for me to help lay a strong foundation upon which the future of these tender children is built. The joy I feel knows no bounds when I hear back from my students about some of the great colleges that they have gotten admission to and I feel so proud of their achievements!”
Born in India, Uma obtained her master’s degree in English Literature. She’s also certified in primary, lower and upper elementary Montessori education.
Uma’s son who is a physician and daughter who is an IT professional are also products of Montessori schools. She lives in Johns Creek with her husband and mother-in- law. She loves to cook, read, listen to music, and hopes to someday visit Australia and Europe.
